I have dedicated my life to iconography, combining classical techniques with modern possibilities to convey the depth of sacred art and make it accessible to a wider audience.
Being an artist is not just about creating beautiful images but also about preserving and passing on the spiritual tradition through art.
I am Petro Birov, the founder of the icon painting studio Icon Experience, which has been creating icons using traditional techniques for over 20 years.
In addition to painting icons, I conduct online iconography courses as well as live workshops in the United Kingdom, helping people master traditional techniques.
My journey in iconography began with studying traditional techniques, working with tempera, gesso, and gold leaf, which allowed me to create high-quality icons for churches and private collections.
My icons have been presented in various church and artistic spaces and are part of private collections worldwide.
