How would you describe the work you do and why?

My work is rooted in emotional connection and the subtle language of body posture and gesture. I create richly textured surfaces with sand and paint in acrylic excluding facial features and specific identities so that each painting becomes open to interpretation.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an artist, for me, means paying close attention to the quiet, often unspoken aspects of life and translating them into images that resonate with others. It is a commitment to honest exploration of emotion, connection and experience, and to developing a visual language that allows viewers to see their own stories in the work. It also means maintaining a regular practice in the studio, continually refining my materials and processes, and sharing the results through exhibitions, galleries and conversations with the people who respond to my paintings.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am a professional artist based in Ludlow, Shropshire, creating textured sand and acrylic paintings that explores the simplified human form and human connection. My practice centres on large-scale, layered works that use anonymous, featureless figures to invite viewers to project their own stories and emotions into the scene.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

My practice and activities are running my own studio/gallery space where I exhibit and sell my work and taking part in art events.
I also do commission work for private collectors, creating bespoke pieces that respond to particular spaces or stories.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

First Class Honours Degree in Photography, University of Derby.

Foundation in Art following studies in Photography, Art, Art History at College.
