Details
How would you describe the work you do and why?
I create nature-inspired abstract paintings and hand-crafted artworks that explore colour, texture and movement. My work is driven by a strong connection to the landscape and the changing seasons, using expressive mark-making and layered paint to capture a sense of place rather than a literal representation of it. I am drawn to the way colour, light and natural forms evoke emotion and calm, and my aim is to create work that brings a feeling of balance and quiet energy into everyday spaces. Painting allows me to respond instinctively to the environment around me, translating my experiences of nature into contemporary, expressive pieces.
For you what does being an artist mean?:
Being an artist for me, is about being able to take time and notice small changes in nature, light and the seasons, and then translating those experiences into something visual and tangible. It allows me to explore ideas, share emotions and create work that invites others to pause, reflect and feel a connection of their own.
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I am an artist whose practice is inspired by nature, using abstract landscapes and florals to express colour, texture and the emotional response I feel within the landscape.
