How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I create individual pieces, each one unique. Much of my work is thrown and altered creating a wide range of functional pots that are both attractive and practical. I salt glaze my slipped pots in a wood fired kiln, loving the varied effects produced by the combination of salt and flames.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am Pippa, someone who loves playing with clay and is fascinated by the whole process - from raw clay through the throwing and hand building stages to the slipping, firing and to finished product.
I have built my own wood fired kiln in which I salt and soda fire my work.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

I have been a keen mudslinger for many years but my love of salt glazed stoneware really developed as a result of attending evening classes and courses at Wobage under the amazing tutorage of Jeremy Steward. I have since built my own wood fired kiln which I use to raw fire and salt glaze my pots.

Your gallery outlets/stockists:

I am currently developing a gallery space next to my workroom at my home in Huntington where people can view my work.
