Details
How would you describe the work you do and why?
A Jeweller providing a number of services to customers and potential customers including standard products via online website and craft fairs. As well as bespoke designs to a customer's specification including new and re-fabricated, updated items (of these items, some of which may have been in the customers' ownership for many years). So I design and fabricate to a specification given by the customer.
For you what does being an artist mean?:
Freedom, to design and create.
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I am predominantly a Jeweller, with secondary activities such as silver smithing and designing. I have a great interest in precious and semi-precious metals, so I do a great deal of research into these in all their forms.
Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:
I have worked with Ewyas Harold Craft Centre, to design & provide training courses in chain-weaving. Planning to increase this activity in the future.
I also run training 'hands on' training to customers who want a simple course, teaching about metals, hallmarking, gemstones and encouraging them to make small items that they can take home.
CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:
I have no formal, only informal (online) training with a bespoke certification method.
However, I have recently purchased Rhino, a design package, with a view to providing a more formal design service to customers.
Exhibitions in the last 3 years:
I have exhibited during h.Art in 2022, 2024 and 2025 as well as previous years.
Your gallery outlets/stockists:
I do not provide to galleries.
My stockist is my own website.
