Details
My toasted stoneware ceramics are thrown, textured and then reformed into functional pots and tableware, using my unique roulettes to create one off patterns. I then fire them in my studio using glazes which compliment the textures.
My current ‘Shipwreck’ collection comes in many forms of pots, sculptures and kitchenware.
I also, work with a lovely group of potters at Wobage. Where we make functional stoneware, which is salt-glazed and then wood fired our pieces under the watchful eye and expertise of the wonderful Jeremy Steward.
Through my artwork I am able to express my creativity and relax. I alway carry a sketch pad and paints where ever I travel, recording my experiences which inform my ceramics.
I am a 3D designer, sculptor and potter who makes both functional and sculptural work from clay. I like to push the clay to it’s limit’s and experiment with new ideas.
I have taught art, textiles and product design for 29 years. Gaining knowledge and experience to share with others.
I currently run art, ceramics and textiles workshops from my Bishopswood home.
I have a BA (Hons) in 3 Dimensional Design in wood, metal, ceramics and glass.
I have taught Product Design and Textile Art, which is reflected throughout my artwork.
I have run workshops in watercolour painting, stained glass and ceramics to adults.
