How would you describe the work you do and why?

I create highly detailed plant portraits because I am obsessed with capturing the image, but also the character of each of my subjects.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Art enables me to communicate my love of plants and the process involved in recreating them on paper.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am a watercolour artist specialising in plants.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I am the Chair of Ludlow Art Society when not painting.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

I started painting late in life after a lifetime of looking. I was trained by a botanical artist who showed me how to look in a different way.
