How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I use traditional silver-smithing techniques to fabricate my pieces. Being able to create bespoke individual pieces is such a joy. I feel a deep connection with nature and my surroundings, they are a constant dependable source of creativity.
My designs are continuously evolving from the design process through to the development of my own techniques and the making of some of my hand tools.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an Artist is about having the freedom to be creative without constraint. To be free to let your artform (each piece in my case) evolve in a way thats representitive of you as an artist, while using your individual skill set to ellaborate .

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am principally a studio jewelery Maker/Designer. I work predominantly in sterling silver and my work is assayed at Birmingham assay office.
My artisanal focus is to to create something different, whilst maintaining a comitment to craftsmanship. I design and create on site, in my humble rural studio, based in the idyllic location of Hanley Childe in Worcestershire.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

I began my love of design and craft many years ago at Art College. Many Years later, quite by chance I untertook silver-smithing classes.
My love of jewellery making from that moment on was firmly established and I was absolutely hooked.
I cant imagine ever pursuing anything other than being a designer/maker now.
