I worked hard to capture the natural world around me, both from my life in Cornwall and Herefordshire. I gather my inspiration from personal experiences, the environment, as well as other cultures around the country.
I start by creating for myself, but inevitably as I work, the artworks develop a life of their own, creating an array of styles and outcomes. Usually there is something for everyone. I am always amazed what customers love, each decision so individual. Of course, I have my favourites, as do my family - all differing from one another.
I look at the world in a unique way (just like everyone else). But art helps me to focus my thought a little deeper than one would otherwise. I am inspired by nature of which the aesthetic is much greater than the simple view and then I project my perceptions through painting which distills it into a vision that others can see. What makes art so amazing for me, I can show someone else what I perceive. Art makes me brave, emotionally driven, open and honest.
Landscape Artist
Landscape painting, commissions from photographs or copies of paintings I have already done and sold.
I studied Art through O and A levels to a foundation year, on to Art College and then University. As an art student at college I majored in Sculpture, large figures made out of railways sleepers. I am also a calligrapher, but my main love is painting.
Since COVID I have been selling direct mainly, but I have had paintings in The Spotty Dog in Tenbury Wells.
