Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I’ve been pouring paint professionally since early 2016. My work is a dynamic mix of pattern and colour where spontaneity meets precise technique to create a visual representation of my inner world. I’m endlessly fascinated by the way we, as humans, respond to patterns; how they can soothe, unsettle, or provoke thought, and I take immense satisfaction in manipulating colour and pattern in ways that challenge expectations. Through my creative journey, I’ve transformed personal health challenges into sources of strength. Enforced periods of deep reflection and struggle often precede manic periods of creativity and my work serves as a record of these ever-changing “inner landscapes". In addition to my professional practice, I’ve spent over 20 years as an educator and I welcome would-be pourers at all experience levels into my studio for in-person paint pouring lessons. Whether working with complete beginners or experienced artists, I find joy in helping people discover the magic of fluid art from my light and spacious Newent studio. My work has been exhibited in galleries across the UK, EU, and USA, and I am honoured to be represented by several fine art galleries. In 2018, I was shortlisted for the Creates Magazine Artist Prize, and in 2022, I received an Artrepreneur Award.
