I like to portray interpretations of my own experiences so I often start with a photo I have taken. I am interested in less obvious images eg ‘The back of the Market’.
I like to reuse materials such as parts of prints in collage, and my finished work frequently has abstract elements
I find the process of deciding, designing and producing a piece of work stimulating. I enjoy learning about and appreciating other artist’s work, not only established practitioners but also colleagues in the group I belong to.
An interested amateur who has worked, since I retired from full time work, on improving my skills and knowledge in a variety of techniques including oil painting, printing and collage.
Bedstone Art Group, which I have been part of for a number of years, provides constant stimulation and ideas both from the tutor and colleagues.
I have attended a number of one day and short residential courses during the last few years, the most recent of which was Chinese Brush Painting
In 2017 I completed the UAL Level 3 Diploma in Art and Design - Foundation Studies and gained a Distinction.
Over the years I have been part of exhibitions organised by Bedstone Art Group and last year, 2024 we exhibited at Ardvaark Books in Hereford Art Week.
I have also had work in exhibitions organised by the Ludford Art Society.
