Details
My work tends to be along the more traditional lines, with watercolours quite detailed and oils a little more loosley painted. I have a passion for the Herefordshire landscape and the black & white villages. Why do I paint ? it gives me great pleasure and satisfaction, and when I hand over a commission to a customer, I love to see their face light up. Then I know I've met my brief !
Being an artist is really just an extention of myself. It's what I do. Like breathing. I can't imagine not painting.I love to watch a piece evolve from a blank canvas.
Glyn Whiting is a multi deciplined artist painting oils, watercolours and line drawings. Glyn paints a variety of subjects, including local lanscapes, animals, portraits and sports, especially Formula One and MotoGP. Comminssions of all kinds from photographs undertaken. Glyn also teaches art extensivley around North Herfordshire.
Mosy of my work is commissions and production for exhibitions. My website is regularly updated and I keep a reasonable profile on social media. I teach at several venues around north Herefordshire, with my beginner/intermediate class proving very popular. I also conduct one day workshops during the Summer.
I spent some time at Herford Art College in the 1960s doing silk screen printing, which I really enjoyed, but painting has always been my first love.
