Details
The work I create, especially for the last five and a half years of being completely bed-bound has mainly surrounded all things in botanical form. It's something I have always been very drawn to, but being so heavily restricted physically, I have had to adapt the way I tackle my creative pursuits.
It allows me to bring a glimpse of nature into my room, to bring the glorious beauty of the outside world beside me which enables me to attempt to capture these flowers and plants via my bedside setup.
To continue to pursue my passion for photography in this way, despite my restrictions is a true solace and gives me a great deal of hope. Botanicals in all forms hold such magic, whether in full bloom or their wilted state, it portrays the fragility of life and how beautiful it all is.
For me, being an artist is to be fascinated and inspired by the beauty of life constantly. There's an immense amount of inspiration that can be gained from all forms of creativity, to see how artists express themselves through music, film, literature and photography is a wondrous part of life.
I tend to specialise in botanical photography, I love to experiment with film and digital within my work.
I'm not in the position at present to pursue teaching and workshops.
