Impressions of the River Wye

Glimpses of the River Wye
Details
I love colour. My work is often inspired by the blues and green of the banks, woodlands and waters of the River Wye. I focus on making larger outdoor sculptures as my garden is another great passion.
I count myself very lucky and privileged to be able to spend time creating.
I am a sculptor working in stone, wood, metal and glass.
In 2008 I established "Arts in the Marches", running a wide range of workshops and exhibitions in Herefordshire. I now focus on stone carving and glass fusing, running these from my home in South Herefordshire. One workshop in particular has flourished; the Llangarron Stone Carvers now meet every month. A talented group of amateurs, ably supported by sculptor Glenn Morris, and David England (when Glenn goes on holiday!)
When I started to wind down my social housing consultancy I joined the Portfolio Course at Hereford College of Arts. This gave me a wonderful introduction, albeit later in life, to a range of crafts. Since then I have attended many fascinating workshops run by talented local artist. I have learnt and continue to learn so much from them all. In 2024 I helped to establish Made in Ross, an arts and crafts collective based in the Market House in Ross on Wye, and very much enjoyed and appreciated being part of that collective for 10 years and the support they gave me to develop my creativity.
