How would you describe the work you do and why?
I make simple , functional stoneware forms that can be used everyday in the home. I enjoy creating and exploring. I love the experience of contrasting colour with the texture of the clay and seeing how the kiln firing transforms the ideas into reality ( or not , depending on the kiln Gods!) All my pottery is fired to stoneware temperatures making it dishwasher safe although I prefer to hand wash .
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I am a largely self taught potter but have had some welcome direction from more experienced potters over the last couple of years. I have been throwing regularly for the last 8 years , although the passion was seeded when I was 6 years old . I currently use a community pottery to make my pots and am I’m hoping to build my own pottery at home in the next year. make stoneware, functional pots and bowls.
