My pots are quite individual in character, all different and invariably slightly skewed (whether by design or circumstance), as I am drawn to the aesthetics of wabi-sabi, the principle of appreciating beauty in imperfection. They are a collection of shapes and sizes in smoky misty blues and greens and pale limestone whites, with occasional hints of turquoise, a reflection of my love of these colours.
I like to make pots that make people smile and which feel good to hold and turn in your hands.
I enjoy working with my hands and creating, whether it be in clay or other mediums.
I am a potter and work with stoneware clays, and I also incorporate other materials like copper into my work.
My small studio is located in the hills of Herefordshire on Bircher Common
I have received no formal training and have taught myself to be a potter over the last few years. I've worked in the art and craft business since leaving college.
I have exhibited at the Old Mayor's Parlour Gallery in Hereford, and in the Artists Gallery near the Ludlow Food Centre.
I sell my work online through Instagram, and I also have a stall at the Local to Ludlow market on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. I also attend local festivals and craft shows throughout the year.
