How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I like working with raku pottery because of the immediacy of the technique - it's fast, and the elemental qualities of the making - there's lots of fire and smoke.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

I went to art college but then worked for 25 years in television. Going back to making has been wonderful, both for the tactile experience of working with clay, and also by getting to know other artists and makers.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I'm a ceramic artist working with the Japanese technique of raku pottery.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

My practice involves repetition, working with the same designs and materials many times but always getting different results.
