How would you describe the work you do and why?: 

My work varies from figurative to semi abstract interpretations of people, places and still life.

For you what does being an artist mean?: 

An artist's validity and integrity is demonstrated by their ability to constantly experiment and develop their oeuvre, remaining confident and committed to their own vision. In other words, they are conscious of creating a uniquely individual style which can easily be identified, and is not derivative.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?: 

Contemporary painter working mainly in oils and drawings

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching: 

I paint en plein air and in the studio using artist's quality materials

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice: 

Decades of experience include working as a commissioned portrait painter, being Head of Art at Emmanuel College, Gateshead, Examiner for Northern Exam Board, collaborating with others to create a GCSE Creative and Performing Arts curriculum, Teaching and lecturing in University, Public Schools, WEA classes and 2 decades as Artist in Residence on Cruise Ships world wide, as well as heading up Art Appreciation holidays in Europe.
