Details
How would you describe the work you do and why?:
I enjoy working with textiles of all sorts. At present I am experimenting with fabric collage, inspired by the birds, butterflies and bees visiting our garden in Hoarwithy. Most of the fabrics I use have been saved and recycled from previous projects; barely anything is discarded. My Granny taught me to sew when I was a little girl and I like to pass on skills and ideas to my own grandchildren
For you what does being an artist mean?:
Seeing my thoughts and ideas materialise into images that I am happy with and hope others enjoy them too.
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I work with fabric, creating art using a variety of techniques.
Exhibitions in the last 3 years:
I exhibited with the St. Catherine's artists last Christmas but this is my first time showing my work in the Summer hArt week.
