My work is rooted in functionality, I see each piece not just as aesthetically pleasing
but as an integral part of daily life used in interactions and rituals.
I began working with clay after a 13 year career in the Early Years Sector and it is an absolute privilege to spend every day now working in and around this medium.
The benefits and joy working with clay can bring can absolutely not be underestimated. Creating something from a piece of clay that will be used and loved by others is an incredible thing and something I will never tire of.
My name is Rose Eacock, a Herefordshire based potter.
I work at the CUP Ceramics studio in Hereford where I am able to use the facilities to make alongside teaching some of the onsite courses.
I am fortunate enough to now have a small studio at home which will allow me to spend more time experimenting with new ideas as well as making my more popular pieces.
My 'clay journey' began at CUP Ceramics in Hereford where I attended a 10 week course and I have literally never left.
I attended more courses and took advantage of their time exchange scheme allowing me to spend more time in the studio learning from the amazing team there and the community it has created.
By immersing myself in studio life I have learnt so much and continue to do so.
I am currently exhibiting as part of the V & A Exhibition: Simon Carroll / Hereford Ceramicists at The Courtyard, Hereford.
