Details
Tif's work is mainly concerned with still life and portraiture. He has particularly embraced the analogue technique of wet plate collodion, first developed in the 1860's. His resulting tintypes are unique images on sheets of metal with staggering detail and tonal depth.
For Tif, the world he encounters is beautifully imperfect. It is his attempts to celebrate and evoke this that drives his artistic life.
Tif is a photographer. His background of 4 decades as a commercial photographer have led on to a successful art practice. His work has been exhibited in galleries and institutions throughout the UK, including the Royal Academy of Arts and the National Portrait Gallery
Tif exhibits in galleries and carries out workshops in his studio - Black Barn Arts. He also does pop up portrait events, both at his studio and elsewhere
