My current paintings are influenced by the natural world, I get reeled in by the environment around me for inspiration - contrasts in light and shade especially . I love being outside and plein air painting is a great way of responding to the to the landscape - working quickly and making sketches in oils to sometimes work on in the studio.
I work mainly in oil paint – but enjoy the immediacy of acrylics too. I enjoy working on commissions too, whether a beloved pet portrait or a landscape that has a special meaning, it's a great feeling when a finished piece is handed to the person and I see how much they love it!
Expressing the way I see things around me through the creative process, sharing the experience sometimes with others.
