Details

How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I love the natural world and like my art to nod to that – ceramics that celebrate the clay itself, often with a nod to past civilisations.
I like to work large with pieces suitable for the garden a particular favourite. But I also make much smaller pieces of a sculptural nature.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

I find creating something is life enhancing. The act of doing is as important to me as the final object.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

I have a degree in fashion design and production, I've worked in design-related fields all my life, most recently in children's publishing. I first played with clay in 2013 and was hooked. But I was only a very occasional potter until recently, when I was lucky enough to have my own studio and very recently to retire from paid employment. Now I'm looking to share my work and hopefully sell it too.
