My method of working is concerned with the doing and the making, an intuitive journey of discovery where the end product is not the principle focus. I work intuitively and my inspiration comes from many sources including children's art, outsider art, philosophy, nature, archetypal symbols and the ancient. I have a vocabulary of marks and symbols that has developed over the years and a way of working that involves the manipulation of materials. I am a painter who also makes pots - my pots are another vehicle for expression and I enjoy making work that is accessible and affordable. I have produced thousands of pots over the years and they are spread far and wide.
As an artist I have the opportunity to explore and create - to see the world in a different way. Perceived external reality is not my primary focus... but rather the exploration of an inner journey of self discovery.
I am an artist, my practice involves working with a wide variety of materials to explore ideas and develop my art work. Alongside making my own artwork I have worked extensively with both children and adults - providing workshops and art projects.
