Susan Parry

I work in a mixture of materials often using found and treasured objects to build into my 3d work. I make sculptures, shrines and collages. I paint, draw, sew and print. I am fascinated by the invisible line between the subconscious 'doodle' and the conscious act of drawing. I want my work to be free and loose but am always drawn to minute detail. I weave between the two.
I work because I always have. My work is an emotional response to life events. A response to an image that has moved me. A delight in materials. An extension of my inveterate doodling.
