How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I design and make contemporary stained glass windows, for public and private buildings and churches, in my studio near Hay-on-Wye, on the English / Welsh border. I also run stained glass courses, which are held in the nearby village of Brilley, in the beautiful countryside where Herefordshire meets Wales. These workshops are suitable for complete beginners, as well as those with previous experience in this lovely medium.
Using the finest traditional materials, I work to commission in flowing styles and rich, natural colour, aiming to produce works which are sympathetic to each building and its function. Exploring themes and ideas with the commissioners and users of a building is an enjoyable and important part of the consultation; this dialogue is a key factor in all my work.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Working with others, both commissioners and students, to produce beautiful windows in this unique and wonderful medium. Playing with coloured light!

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
