Details

How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I paint mainly in acrylics. I like to explore the effect of light as a subject for my paintings. I am currently enjoying painting mountain vistas.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Expression, creation, feeling. Being lost in time.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I paint in my studio - Lyde Art Studio on the outskirts of Hereford set in the beautiful Herefordshire landscape.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I generally paint for pleasure in my spare time. I have done commissions when time allows.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

I studied art at Hereford Art College for 3 years doing General Art and Design and then Display Design. I gave up painting for many years to bring up my children and work on my music, but have for the last few years been getting back into painting again and enjoying it immensely.

Exhibitions in the last 3 years:

I have mainly been exhibiting as part of Herefordshire Art and Craft Society of which I am currently Secretary. I have exhibited at The Courtyard in Hereford; Gilbies Wine Bar, Hereford; The Green Dragon Hotel Hereford (where I am exhibiting this year for h-Art) and at The Old Stable Gallery in Leominster.

Your gallery outlets/stockists:

I have a Facebook and Instagram page AnitaWallaceArt where I post pictures of my latest paintings. I will also be selling prints and some cards at The Green Dragon Hotel, Hereford during H-Art or you can contact me via my Facebook page for prints of my paintings or the originals if you are interested.
