How would you describe the work you do and why?:
My practice consists of a large variety of work, steel and kinetic sculpture, wind and garden sculpture, 3D mixed media and installation. I make my own range of 'Simic' garden braziers and barbecues. I am director of the Vulgar Earth artists collective, who present group exhibitions on the themes of social, political and environmental issues. I produce designed steel work and supply specialist museum mountmaking services.
For you what does being an artist mean?:
Art is a break from the everyday humdrum of life, it is an excuse to stand and stare without purpose, to contemplate life, to drift, and to return with fresh eyes and good humour.
