How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I am predominantly a slab builder creating vessels and sculptural work. I use a terracotta clay which I find suits my way of working and the colour contrasts well with the slips I use on the relief and sgraffito images. My interests are in my surroundings of wildlife and feeds into the imagery on my work.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Creating with clay is the medium I find enables me to express myself and my ideas. After having dug up some clay, made a few pieces and fired them on an open fire at a very young age I was hooked.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I feel I am a potter but most will think of this as a thrower which is not me therefore maybe I need to be a ceramicist.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I have a workshop where I work alone and as a good balance I teach various pottery classes in Usk

BA Hons Ceramics, Cardiff Art College
Art Teachers Certificate Cardiff

Your gallery outlets/stockists:
