Artwork for Carolynn Russ

How would you describe the work you do and why?:

Carolynn is a relatively new artist - only launching her work for sale within the last few years. She has been drawing and painting from a very young age, but has, only quite recently, started exhibiting and selling to the public. After completing an art foundation, B.A and an M.A, at a selection of art colleges across the U.K, she spent the first 20 years of her working life designing textiles for U.K women's wear; enjoying being creativity whilst also travelling the globe for research and inspiration. Now, her family life - having both a beautiful daughter and an energetic dog, has rooted her to the U.K and inspired her in her change of path. She celebrates nature as she sees it through painting and drawing. Her textile background emerges through her love of colour, pattern and particular eye for detail. She resonates with both plants and animals. Her love for gardening has led to many detailed plant studies, whilst chickens are rapidly sketched for their quirky colourful characteristics, and, since owning a dog, our adored canine friends feature often. She offers original artworks in a range of media and, also, high-quality fine art Giclee prints.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being creative is a gift to see the world in way many maybe do not so I think it is important to share these visions as it encourages others to find beauty in everyday life, inspire hope and positivity and aid all round well being.
