How would you describe the work you do and why?:

Landscapes, flowers and organic forms feature heavily in all aspects of my work abstracting and depicting movement from a small snap shot of time. I work to enhance the shapes and patterns through my use of texture and layering of paint. This difference in depth also helps to define the highlights and shadows of my chosen subject matter bringing the painting to life.

Inspiration for me comes from the being in the landscape, walking, exploring, a change in the weather or the seasons. All these observations, excite me and use my passion for colour and shape and have always been at the heart of my work, my paintings work less with realism in nature and more with the creation of sculptural forms that are made between the outlines.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

It’s my happy place and I’m so grateful to be able to work this way each day now.
After many years in retail, as a Visual Merchandiser. I realised how much I missed painting and the time in the studio. So after some great opportunities, my husband and I moved and changed our pace of life.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am a mixed media artist working with spray-paint, oil paint and art resin. Most often starting my landscape paintings within the landscape, whatever the weather, rain or shine.
Also, sharing my paintings as limited edition prints, soft velvet cushions, ceramic coasters and greetings card sets.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I sell my original paintings, prints, ceramic coasters, placemats and greetings cards in a couple of galleries that I steward in and also love doing seasonal markets where I can meet more lovely customers.
