How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I have been photographing Tibetans for about 30 years, deeply inspired by a culture that for centuries has placed the sacred at the heart of life. Between 2000 and 2023 I have traveled to Tibet many times, staying with nomad families in Amdo and Kham, old eastern Tibet, inspired by their beautiful earth based culture, their independent spirit, their hospitality and sense of fun. I have been documenting what I am afraid might be tghe dying of a beautiful earth-based culture.
I also photograph extensively in my own village in Worcestershire using different format cameras and recording the subtle play of light on the hedgerows, fields and wilder fringes of our rural community.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

For me photography (and painting before it) is a meditation. Its a path of Love.
