How would you describe the work you do and why?: 

A painterly response to my immediate surroundings, referencing memories and poetry. My paintings are essentially celebratory. I search for empathy with the subject and express the forms, dynamics and “soul” as I perceive them, with an economy of means.

For you what does being an artist mean?: 

Fulfilling a need to be reflective and creative.

Painter of landscape, still life and the figure

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching: 

Taught 20 years, running the art in a middle school in Middlesex.
Running landscape painting workshops for the annual Spring Festival on Colonsay, an island in the Inner Hebrides.
Three times Artist in Residence at Dore Abbey, Herefordshire for the English Choral Experience week in July.
