How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I prefer to paint outside in the natural environment but do not like working in in wet and cold so most of the time I have to spend in my dining room /studio, having to move out when the family come to lunch.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

I am forever looking at the world about me and it is a privilege to be able to take the time to paint some of the beautiful scenes and creatures. I was lucky enough to win an award from the Warwickshire Advertiser “Vibrant Nature & Wildlife Artist 2023/24.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

My name is Trixy, now a retired teacher, painting subjects from nature such as flowers, trees, landscapes and animals; particularly those found in the villages and rural locations of Herefordshire . I paint mainly using oil but sometimes other mediums too.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I attend a weekly class enjoying the company of likeminded people, but work alone at home or with my husband most of the time

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

Painting has always been part of my life doing ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels at school. Only now that I am retired can I spend time enjoying my hobbies.

Exhibitions in the last 3 years:

Weobley, - HACS, - The Courtyard Hereford, - H-Art, - Leominster. - Mansel Lacy
