How would you describe the work you do and why?:

Each piece celebrates the inherent quality of the wood; the grain, the form, the smell, the touch, the way the light catches the undercuts and the shadows that are cast across the workbench.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

The limitless interplay between individual sculptures gives rise to playful exploration and new visual and emotional relationships, as the juxtaposition between forms changes.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I have come a long way to combine the character and beauty of a piece (a tree) with my idea. Both coalesce and pure, perhaps figurative form evolves, telling the story of origin, presence and fineness.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I have been teaching for many years, however 2024 is going to be a year to explore only.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

He received several prestigious awards, culminating in the State Award in Arts and Crafts- in the Rhineland-Palatinate.
