How would you describe the work you do and why?: 

I love creating something original, with figures usually, which usually tells a story. But using colour and abstract shapes i also enjoy

For you what does being an artist mean?: 

Being an artist is one way of being creative.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?: 

Visual Artist. I also like recycling found objects into sculpture.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching: 

Chair of Herefordshire Art and Craft Society. Est.1922.
Which includes organising, exhibiting and hanging exhibitions. We exhibit in The Green Dragon Hotel in Hereford City for h-Art Week. The Courtyard Center for the Arts, Hereford and other venues.
I also exhibit independantly
We made a film of our members in their Creative Spaces - plus a film made for us by Professor Allen Fisher about Artists in
the 1920s. for our Centenary year. Allen is in the process of making another film which will be available to see during h-Art.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice: 

Grew up in North London.
Met my husband who was studying at the Slade School of Art. He encouraged me to study full time at Hornsey Art School .
I then worked in the West End of London as a Visual Merchandiser in the retail trade.
Moved to St. Albans and did free lance work for trade shows.
Then moved to Herefordshire , carrying on with my free lance work while opening and running two Boutiques (fashion)
I then decided I needed to get back to putting more time into my artwork and learning to place the alto Sax.

Exhibitions in the last 3 years: 

HACS Exhibitions at The Courtyard Center for the Arts.
Hereford Art Week at The Green Dragon in Hereford - this will be the fourth year.
