Details
I hand stitch textile collage images in an Impressionistic style. Inspired by living in Herefordshire (I moved here 3 years ago) the landscapes and environment as well as my home and garden provide endless material for art pictures.
Seeing the world in a particular way and interpreting it so others can enjoy the detail too!
Textile Artist
I try to create one picture a week. By sharing the process from start to finish on social media (including videos) of what inspired a particular subject and how it comes together as a picture inspires others to try textile collage too. I also chart and share outings and my arty activities with almost 70,000 followers across all social media platforms.
I am self-taught. I have been Artist-in-Residence at 2 National Trust properties, had work in museums and galleries including the Oxford Museum of Natural History; a piece of my work was exhibited in the Houses of Parliament; Two pieces of work are held in Bucks County Museum and Oxfordshire County Museum. I was filmed for a CBBC children's programme, Junk Rescue, which aired in 2018. Subsequently I was invited to take part in the BBC Summer Event where the team and I taught textile collage to 400 young people.
