How would you describe the work you do and why?:

My work is contemporary and can be abstract as well as representational. My paintings are more abstract in that they play with shape and space. My Lino cut prints have representational elements, creatures feature quite often in an anthropomorphic manner. There is a surreal feel to the compositions and meaning is layered.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

There is structure and discipline and there is freedom and spontaneity to being an artist. I enjoy the contradictions inherent in my practice.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am a local artist, a printmaker and a painter.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I divide my time my time between tutoring adults in art classes and my own studio practice.
I also enjoy selling my work at local art markets including Kington, Ludlow and CMYK festivals.
