How do you describe your Gallery?:
A vibrant community craft centre with an eclectic range of handmade crafts on display in our gallery. We have a dedicated exhibition room where we have art and craft related exhibitions on display throughout the year. We host weekly special interest clubs as well as an increasingly wide range of courses that are open to all to participate in. There is a small welcoming cafe where great coffee, a range of teas and delicious cakes are served.
Do you specialise in any particular artform or craft?:
We display a wide range of art and craft.
What's important to you when you choose whose work to exhibit and sell?:
Original handmade good quality work that will compliment work already on display in the gallery is our main aim. As the Ewyas Harold Craft Centre is a charity entirely run by volunteers and its members it is essential to select artists who are willing to take part in all aspects of running the Craft Centre and take an active role as exhibitor members.
What's coming up this year?:
We have a rolling programme of exhibitions throughout the year, from Fleece to Fashion showcasing all aspects of wool production with a wide range of hand crafted products will be running for 6 weeks from 1st March 2025.
Your notable exhibitions in the last few years:
Our inaugural exhibition in March 2024 was ' Wedding Dresses', we had a wide range of outfits, many of them handmade, loaned to us by the local community. The exhibition included stories about the weddings, how outfits were chosen and made, wedding albums, invitations and photographs. This was followed by 'Patchwork and Appliqué', a stunning collection of work created by our talented community which was a bit hit that we extended for an extra month. We had a beautiful Christmassy Craft exhibition, again with a wide variety of handmade Christmas decorations loaned by our community.
