Info
How do you describe your Gallery?:
Take 4 is a gallery cooperative run by 22 artists and makers from the Ledbury area. The members of the cooperative organise and curate the gallery showing a diverse range of their own work.
Do you specialise in any particular artform or craft?:
It's a mixed art and craft gallery comprising painters, sculptors, ceramic artists, blacksmiths, textile artists and basket maker.
What's important to you when you choose whose work to exhibit and sell?:
The gallery exhibits works by its member artists and makers. It's important that the work is made to the highest standards and that even when diverse works are shown together they complement each other. Many of the artists are very local, so its important that the work reflects the surrounding area and it materials.
What's coming up this year?:
We're a new cooperative having taken over the gallery from the previous owner, Caroline Green, who is now one of the members. Our exhibitions change every 6-8 weeks when different members' work is highlighted and new pieces are put on show. We are planning a special exhibition to coincide with the Ledbury Poetry Festival in July in which members will be incorporating text or lines of poetry into their work.
Your notable exhibitions in the last few years:
We only opened as a cooperative in February 2024. Over the previous years the gallery had a regular series of themed exhibitions.
