How do you describe your Gallery?:
Cabalva Farm Gallery is located near Hay-on-Wye at HR3 6EX. The gallery shows occasional exhibitions throughout the year and is situated on a working farm overlooking the River Wye and the Black Mountains. This new exhibition features site-specific animal sculptures by Sally Matthews.
The Gallery is just down the road from Cabalva Ceramics .
Do you specialise in any particular artform or craft?:
Painting and sculpture.
What's important to you when you choose whose work to exhibit and sell?:
My goal is to bring artists together that complement each other and give visitors a memorable experience.
What's coming up this year?:
Sculptor and painter Carol Peace Sally Matthews creates a site specific series of animal sculptures in response to the architecture and landscape.
Your notable exhibitions in the last few years:
Sally Matthews has exhibited hound dogs loping up the stairs, a striking steel zebra standing on the lawn, and a Hereford bull made of steel, bracken and feathers in a shed; Eloise Govier installed neon-coloured foamcore bricks floating above the lawn overlooking the River Wye; Veronica Guest exhibited delicate watercolours; Susannah Royle painted wild creatures of the British Isles; and Hannah Firmin's showed masterful prints and demonstrated her printmaking.
