The Craft Gallery, Old Mayor's Parlour (upstairs)
Info
How do you describe your Gallery?:
Our Craft Gallery is in the historic 14th Century Old Mayor's Parlour on Church Street in Hereford. Throughout the year we feature makers of all kinds, with a special exhibition for h.Art week. We run a h.Art Prize where the Church Street Charitable Trust give monetary prizes to help artists develop their work, and sponsor them to be part of h.Art.
Do you specialise in any particular artform or craft?:
We have makers of all kinds - painters, printers, ceramicist, sculptors, textile artists, jewellers etc.
What's important to you when you choose whose work to exhibit and sell?:
We only run a few exhibitions a year, each exhibition featuring about 6 artists, so it's really important that the work sits together well. We focus on craft, and we like everything to be made by hand by the artist.
What's coming up this year?:
We currently have our Spring Exhibition on until mid-May, before our Summer Show May-August, before h.Art exhibition which will run for all of September. We have a short show of two weeks where the Courtyard will be having a display, and then we'll be straight into our Winter Exhibition which will run up until Christmas.
