I love working with wood, I particularly enjoy the challenge of making chairs. Chair are the piece of furniture we interact with most, they have to comfortable, practical, and ideally beautiful. I learn woodcraft the traditional way, doing a crafts apprenticeship, I have since worked with and learned from many crafts people. I now use a mix of traditional hand tool and moder machines to create my work. I source all my timber locally, sometime helping with the fell and milling.
I see being an artist is about going to extra lengths to create work that pushes and inspire me creatively, and taking time at the design and the making stages to really try and make something special.

I have enjoyed a mix of teaching and practicing my craft. After spending a few year predominantly teaching, I am now focusing mainly on making, but I still running a few short courses from my home workshop.
